Vantage Secures $2 Billion Credit Facility

Vantage Data Centers closed a $2 billion financing facility to support early stage development across its North American platform.

The facility is structured as a five year revolving credit platform that includes extension options. It starts with an initial collateral pool of three development assets and permits Vantage to add further assets over time. Vantage positions it both as committed development stage financing and as a warehouse facility that can flexibly support expanding customer demand.

Evercore and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC served as lead arrangers. The lender group consists of approximately a dozen insurance companies and other institutional investors, broadening Vantage’s capital provider base beyond traditional bank or private credit sources. Pre closing reports indicated discussions involving major asset managers such as Pimco and PGIM (Prudential Financial’s investment arm).

Scott Beasley, global chief financial officer, described the facility as “a strategic addition to Vantage’s capital platform, providing committed development stage financing backed by a broader and more diverse investor base. It reflects the scale of our platform, the quality of our development pipeline and the strength of our institutional relationships.” Rich Cosgray, senior vice president of global capital markets, added that it “gives us greater capacity to move quickly, provide certainty for our customers and deliver the infrastructure needed.”

This transaction forms part of a broader 2026 capital raising effort in which Vantage closed on more than $40 billion of capital. The stated goals include supporting global growth, diversifying funding sources, optimizing the capital structure, and preserving flexibility in equity deployment.

Recent prior financings illustrate the pattern of layered, multi source capital:

  • A $2.4 billion debt facility arranged by Ares Management in February 2026 (Ares holding roughly $1.6 billion of the commitment) for refinancing and North American development and operations.
  • A $5 billion green loan package in 2025 that included a $2.25 billion construction loan for the New Albany, Ohio campus and a significant upsizing of a corporate facility.
  • Additional regional activity such as £254 million in asset backed securities for Wales facilities and a $300 million investment from Aware Super into the Asia-Pacific business.

Vantage’s North American platform comprises approximately 17 campuses with more than 4 GW of IT load capacity. Stabilized assets are described as fully leased under long term contracts to hyperscale customers, with roughly 99% of North American customers holding investment grade ratings. The company is backed by a consortium that includes DigitalBridge Group, Silver Lake, AustralianSuper, and PSP Investments.

The facility targets the early stage development gap (land acquisition, site preparation, and initial construction) where capital needs are high and traditional project finance can introduce delays. By providing revolving, multi asset capacity with the ability to add collateral, it functions as a warehouse that can absorb pipeline growth as AI and cloud demand materializes, reducing reliance on sequential, asset specific loans and shortening time to market.

Diversification toward insurance companies and institutional investors reflects both strong institutional appetite for data center exposure (driven by long term contracted cash flows and AI infrastructure demand) and a strategic move to reduce concentration risk with any single lender category. In an environment of elevated construction costs, power constraints, and heightened scrutiny of large scale projects, committed revolving capacity improves delivery certainty for hyperscale tenants who require predictable capacity ramps.

The revolving structure with extension options and expandable collateral pool enhances balance sheet flexibility. It allows Vantage to match funding more closely to development milestones, recycle capital as assets stabilize and are refinanced into longer term or securitized vehicles, and maintain optionality on equity deployment. Combined with the scale of 2026 capital formation (exceeding $40 billion), the facility underscores Vantage’s ability to access deep institutional capital markets at a time when data center development is among the most capital intensive segments of digital infrastructure.

The $2 billion facility reinforces Vantage’s positioning as a scaled, multi continental hyperscale developer with a durable, multi layered capital platform capable of supporting accelerated North American build out amid sustained AI and cloud driven demand.
