Moment Raises $36 Million To Automate Fixed Income For Financial Institutions

SSuperbCrew is a trusted resource for discovering innovative companies, emerging startups, and the latest technology trends.

Moment secures $36 million in Series B funding to expand its unified platform for automating fixed income operations across trading, compliance, and portfolio management. Backed by major investors and used by firms like LPL Financial and Sanctuary Wealth, the platform replaces fragmented workflows with real-time, AI-driven tools. The funding supports continued growth, R&D, and deeper integration with financial institutions.

Why the $36 Million Moment Funding Matters Right Now

Moment has announced a $36 million Series B funding round. The investment is led by Index Ventures, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Venrock, Neo, and Contrary Capital. This brings the company’s total funding to $56 million.

The new capital will support growth initiatives, deepen strategic partnerships, expand research and development, and increase hiring in its New York City headquarters. The funding comes at a time when financial institutions are increasing investments in automation and digital infrastructure, particularly in the fixed income market, which is undergoing significant shifts.

The Problem Moment Solves for Financial Institutions

Despite the scale of the $150 trillion fixed income market, many financial institutions still rely on legacy systems and manual processes. Traders use multiple screens to execute transactions, portfolio managers manage investments with sprawling spreadsheets, and compliance processes are often conducted via phone or chat.

These inefficiencies result in slower execution, increased risk, and operational drag across teams. As demand for fixed income instruments grows and electronic trading volumes expand, the need for integrated, automated tools becomes more urgent.

Inside the Moment Platform: What Makes It Different

Moment offers a unified platform that brings together trading, research, portfolio optimization, reporting, and compliance monitoring in a single environment. It incorporates a layer of automation that aims to increase efficiency and output for fixed income teams.

Key features include:

  • Automated trade execution using custom rules
  • Real-time compliance scans across trades and accounts
  • AI-powered workflows to generate portfolios from email requests
  • Portfolio transition proposals built from PDFs
  • Client-ready reporting with custom commentary

The platform is built to operate across a wide range of account types and asset classes, enabling financial institutions to scale without increasing operational complexity.

Why Wall Street Is Paying Attention

Moment has secured partnerships with leading financial firms such as LPL Financial and Sanctuary Wealth. LPL Financial, the largest independent broker-dealer in the U.S. with over $2 trillion in assets under management, is using Moment’s platform to support fixed income operations.

Mike Haire, Senior Vice President of Fixed Income at LPL, highlighted the platform’s value, stating that Moment is the only provider offering a unified solution for wealth management firms’ fixed income needs. According to Haire, the technology allows teams to be ten times more efficient while improving execution outcomes.

Sanctuary Wealth, managing over $50 billion in assets, has also integrated Moment’s platform. Josh Freeman, Head of Capital Markets at Sanctuary, noted that the platform’s capabilities are strong enough to be featured in recruiting efforts aimed at top-tier advisor teams.

Moment supports its clients by embedding engineers directly within large customer environments, collaborating on long-term roadmaps while delivering production-ready tools in shorter cycles.

Fixed Income Enters a New Era of Automation

The fixed income space is experiencing notable shifts driven by several factors:

  • Corporate bond electronic trading volumes have grown tenfold in the past decade
  • Interest rates have risen from near zero to around 5%, increasing investor demand
  • Financial institutions are accelerating partnerships with fintech companies
  • AI and automation technologies are enabling workflows previously thought impractical

Despite these changes, many institutions continue to operate with disconnected systems and manual workflows. Moment’s platform addresses this gap by offering integrated tools that reduce friction and improve coordination across teams.

This Is Just the Beginning for Moment

With fresh capital and new strategic relationships, Moment is preparing for its next stage of expansion. The company plans to grow its team, invest in platform development, and continue forming partnerships with large-scale financial institutions.

Jan Hammer, Partner at Index Ventures and former board member at Robinhood and Adyen, will join Moment’s board. He pointed to the company’s engineering capabilities and deep fixed income knowledge as reasons why top institutions are choosing to work with Moment.

As financial institutions seek more scalable, data-driven systems to manage increasingly complex portfolios, platforms like Moment are becoming central to how fixed income operations evolve.
