Island Raises $400 Million In Series F Funding Round

SSuperbCrew is a trusted resource for discovering innovative companies, emerging startups, and the latest technology trends.

Island, the Dallas, Texas-based enterprise security company, raised $400 million in a Series F round, at a $6.4 billion post money valuation.

Island’s recent $400 million round was led by Evolution Equity Partners. Participants included existing investors Prysm Capital, Sequoia Capital, Coatue Management, Cyberstarts, Insight Partners, J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners, Alta Park Capital, Georgian, G Squared, and Squarepoint, plus a personal investment from cybersecurity entrepreneur Dmitri Alperovitch (former CrowdStrike co-founder).

This brings Island’s total capital raised to well over $1 billion (estimates range around $1.1–1.2 billion). Prior rounds included a $250 million Series E in March 2025 at roughly $4.8–4.85 billion valuation (led by Coatue) and a $175 million Series D in 2024 that valued the company at about $3 billion. The new valuation more than doubles the 2024 figure and represents a step-up of roughly 30%+ from the 2025 round.

What is Island.io?

Founded in 2020 by Mike Fey (CEO, former Symantec president and McAfee CTO) and Dan Amiga (CTO), Island pioneered the “Enterprise Browser”, a Chromium based browser that embeds security, access controls, data loss prevention (DLP), visibility, and productivity features directly into the primary workspace for knowledge workers.

It has since expanded into an “agentic control plane.” This unifies last mile control, network (next generation SASE with endpoint outward architecture delivering ZTNA, device posture, and inline DLP without traditional VPNs), data protection, identity, and observability under a single policy engine and audit trail. The platform governs both human users and AI agents across browsers (enterprise and consumer via extension), endpoints, applications, networks, and data. Key AI focused capabilities include guardrails to separate proprietary information from external models, prompt injection mitigation, identity governance, access controls, human approvals, data boundaries, and cost controls.

Based in Dallas, TX (about 400 of 1,000 total employees), the company plans to grow headcount to around 1,500 by mid 2027.
Island reports doubling annual recurring revenue (ARR) every fiscal year since its 2022 commercial launch. By September 2026 it had reached approximately $200 million in revenue with ~100% year over year growth.

Customers include major enterprises such as Pfizer, Amazon, PayPal, Chipotle, American Airlines, and eight of the world’s ten largest banks, plus names like Citi and T-Mobile. Millions of users rely on the platform. Recognition includes a spot on the 2026 CNBC Disruptor 50 list, Frost & Sullivan’s 2026 Global Zero Trust Browser Security Company of the Year, and Customers’ Choice status in the 2026 Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer for Secure Enterprise Browsers. A Forrester Total Economic Impact study earlier in 2026 projected 344% ROI over three years for a composite organization.

How will Island use the funds?

Proceeds will fund the next phase of growth and innovation as enterprises scale AI agents and modernize workflows. Priorities include accelerating product development (especially the agentic control plane), go to market expansion (Europe, Asia, Middle East), and hiring. The emphasis is on providing the “missing essential layer of visibility, control, and auditing” needed for safe AI adoption alongside human work.

CEO Mike Fey described the moment as one in which “every old control is breaking,” with people and AI agents working side by side requiring shared context, access, guardrails, and accountability. CTO Dan Amiga highlighted the need to govern agents across multiple technology layers rather than a single one. Evolution Equity’s Richard Seewald noted Island’s ability to see and govern activity by people and agents wherever it occurs, positioning it as a category creator that displaces legacy tools.

The funding arrives amid heightened enterprise demand for tools that secure AI agents, which can act independently, access systems and data, and introduce new risks (e.g., rogue agents, prompt injection, unauthorized access). Traditional network and perimeter based controls are viewed as insufficient for agentic workflows. Island’s browser centric, last mile approach and expansion into a broader control plane address this shift while also supporting modernization goals such as VDI reduction, BYOD enablement, contractor/M&A onboarding, and simplified security infrastructure without user friction.

The $400 million Series F at $6.4 billion valuation underscores strong investor conviction in Island’s trajectory from enterprise browser pioneer to comprehensive agentic control plane, backed by consistent hyper growth, high profile customers, and a product strategy aligned with the rapid rise of enterprise AI agents.
