Below is our recent interview with Bri Brennan, Chief Growth Officer at Keywell.ai:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: Keywell.ai is the AI operational scaffolding for health plans and government agencies. We deploy governance, evaluation, and orchestration infrastructure inside our customers’ existing data environments for the purposes of automating the complex, costly operational workflows that are traditionally time and resource-heavy. This means our customers retain full data ownership, maintain HIPAA compliance inside their own perimeter, and build AI capability from within their organizations, often reducing reliance on and spend for vendors and point solutions. The gap we close is that healthcare organizations and agencies have a strategy for agentic AI, but no operational layer to activate that strategy at scale. We are the operational layer for execution.
Q: What makes you the best choice? How are you unique?
A: We have three distinct advantages:
1. Our business model centers around ownership. We deploy directly in your infrastructure. You own the agents, workflows, intelligence, and scaffolding layer permanently. No more renting insights or roadmaps from SaaS vendors and point solutions with Keywell.ai; you’re building institutional capability.
2. We’re natively built on Databricks, so we use the same governance models your teams already use. No more long integrations or rip and replace to the stack.
3. We’re built specifically for healthcare, including healthcare-specific ontologies, granular permissions and guardrails, pre-loaded compliance logic, and domain native building blocks and workflow quick starts.
Why we’re the best choice comes down to our team’s depth and success in this space. Our founders and leadership have Fortune 500 healthcare experience, national-scale data, analytics, and AI work. We built this because we built Keywell because we lived inside the industry, experienced the problems first-hand, and knew there was a better way. Our roster of happy clients is our most significant proof point.

Q: Who is your ideal client and why?
A: Health Plans, State Medicaid and Medicare programs, and state health agencies. We are uniquely suited to automate the workflows these organizations run on a daily basis, including: prior authorization, utilization management, benefits and eligibility verification, program integrity, and fraud detection. Our clients demand governance, observability, and operational accountability, and those are the constraints we’ve built for.
What can we expect from you in next 6 months? What are your plans?
- Through our partnership with Carahsoft, we will be activating our reseller networks and established government procurement vehicles (NASPO ValuePoint, TIPS, OMNIA Partners, E&I Cooperative) to make Keywell accessible through channels that state agencies already trust and use.
- We’re expanding the Keywell Evaluation Sandbox. In this production-grade pilot environment, organizations test their own data and workflows before full deployment. We see this as a key competitive lever.
- We will continue to publish healthcare AI governance guidance aligned with HIPAA, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and the CMS Prior Authorization API deadline in January 2027.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: Our team built this to solve problems we were facing. We come from inside health plans and healthcare systems where we saw pilots fail, data models break in production, and vendors stall in compliance review because there was no governance layer, no evaluation framework, and too many “what if’s.” Because we know the “what if’s,” every architectural decision prioritizes operator control, institutional accountability, and healthcare compliance.
