Q: Kent tell us please what is Yonomi? 

A: Yonomi makes your life with connected devices simpler and better. Yonomi is a direct to consumer app that magically discovers monitors and controls your connected devices.

Unlike virtually every other offering in the space, Yonomi requires no hub/controller box. Instead we have invented a “Virtual Gateway” technology that leverages the fabric of mobile devices and the Cloud to interact reliably with devices.  This hub-less approach enables an extremely low barrier to adoption for consumers.

While our ground breaking connectivity solution is a key enabler, the innovation extends beyond. We have a powerful rules engine and an extremely streamlined user experience.  We are developing learning algorithms to anticipate users’ desires and implement those either automatically or via an easy to reach set of dynamic contextual controls.

Q: Tell us more about supported devices?

A: We are supporting the most popular consumer connected devices.  Our Beta product has rich support for Sonos speakers, Nest thermostats and Protect products, Jawbone UP24 activity monitors, Philips Hue lights, Belkin Wemo Switches/Insight Switches/Light Switches/Motion detectors.  More devices will be announced soon.

Q: What is your main goal at the moment?

A: Our goal is to get user adoption and feedback.  Consumer response has been strong so far but we want more of you to use the product and let us know how it simplifies and improves your life with connected devices.

Q: What’s your monetization plan and what are your plans for the future?

A: At this point, we are primarily focused on building a truly great product and letting people use it for free.  We’ll explore a variety of revenue generation opportunities once we are certain that our product has struck a chord. Today our product is still in private Beta. We are planning some exciting partnerships in the future.
