Picklist.me is a community for discovering, promoting, buying and selling, the finest arts and crafts. Picklist.me offers a new way for creative people and art lovers to socialize and share what inspires them! Below is recent interview with Nasos Gavalas, CEO and co-founder of Picklist.me:

Q: What is Picklist.me? How Picklist.me can help artists and artisans?

A: Picklist.me is a premier popularity-based community where artists, artisans and designers showcase, promote and sell their finest works. Consider our platform as a creativity hub which unifies all makers-sellers from all marketplaces; whether they are selling to an “x” or “y” marketplace, Picklist.me can help them to easily build their own brand and social awareness by providing the tools to effectively promote their exceptional work, and the person behind it.

Q: Who do you see as your primary target audience?

A: Our members will be talented artisans, artists and designers who actually design, create and sell their own products, whether it is a T-shirt or a 3ft. sculpture. We have very strict rules about the quality of listed items and we tend to keep that this way.

Q: How long did it take you to get a final product?

A: We have previously launched an early version of Picklist.me -as a close-beta. That gave us the opportunity to validate our hypotheses and we gained precious insights and feedback.
In a nutshell, it took us about 4 months to build the first prototype and about 6 months for the revised version. At this point I should mention that we are laser-focus on providing real value to our customers and therefore we care deeply for delivering a great user experience along with a unique usability.

Q: When do you plan to launch it?

A: When our ranking algorithm is thoroughly tested will be ready to launch. We work around the clock to be “up and running” by the end of February. Along the way we will be working to constantly deliver additional features to our members.

Q: How big your team is?

A: The core team is consisting with the 2 co-founders; Dionisis Chalikias, fashion designer and art director, and me as CEO and project manager. On our team are also working 3 web developers; such a small team leaves a lot of space for experimenting and working on an agile and artistic way.
For this project we are participating in an accelerator program for startups (Metavallon.org) which means that we have a strong team of mentors and advisors supporting us along the way.

Q: What can Picklist.me users expect in 2014?

A: Definitely something new! We are committed on growing an ecosystem where the most creative people can productively interact with each other, create optimum products and deliver new trends to the world; because these talented individuals need to create more and promote less. And we can make that happen!
