MOCingbird Creates The Easiest Place For Medical Professionals To Monitor Their MOC And CME Requirements

Listen to this article

Below is our recent interview with Brad Artery, Chief Executive Officer at MOCingbird:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to MOCingbird?

A: MOCingbird is a hosted platform built by physicians for healthcare clinicians (MD’s, PA’s, NP’s, RN’s). The mission of the business and platform is to ease the burden of Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) on these healthcare professionals. Administration and inefficiency associated with MOC and CME is a known pain point in healthcare that our platform helps to solve.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your platform?

A: MOCingbird solves 3 challenges that healthcare professionals currently face, by providing 3 solutions in a single place (on our platform):

1. Digital library – with our simple upload solution, you can take any and all documentation related to licensing, certification, and CME, upload it to MOCingbird and enjoy the benefits of having access to these digital files forever

2. Clear dashboard highlighting license and certification requirements – we’ve written the rules for all 50 states and 24 ABMS Board certifications (for MD’s, for example) so MD’s can clearly see what ongoing requirements are needed to maintain license and certification. Based on the documents uploaded to the digital library, clinicians will see how many credits they currently have…and how many are needed by what deadline. (Currently, the burden for understanding state licensing and board certification requirements is squarely on the individual clinician. And the requirements are quite confusing and complex!)

3. Distribute customized CME content – now that the clinician knows the credits he/she has and the credits he/she needs, MOCingbird will distribute CME content (courses and conferencesc) that is customized to the clinicians specialty. Thus, a pediatrician and an orthopedic surgeon will not get the same CME content options. Very soon, MOCingbird will be also be able to award CME credits.

By bringing these attributes together, MOCingbird provides the right content in the right place at the right time.

Q: Who is your ideal user and why?

A: Our ideal user is any professional healthcare provider that is struggling to balance the growing administrative requirements of the profession with actually doing what he/she loves (practicing medicine) and spending time with loved ones. Our goal is to give providers the one thing they would like to have more of – TIME.

Q: What can we expect from MOCingbird in next six months?

A: In approximately 60 days, you’ll hear about our mobile app. The app will be the final piece to the product / platform that truly fits with how providers consume CME content and manage licensing and certification requirements. Following that, you’ll hear of our joint provider relationships with high quality CME content creators, our integrations with states and boards (so our platform can submit the providers information on their behalf), and our growing list of satisfied organizations and individual users.

We have extremely passionate company founders and leaders that are driven to make a meaningful difference in healthcare. We believe our MOCingbird platform can do that, and we’re out to prove it!
