Below is our recent interview with Roberto C. Baldizon, from Luszol:

Q: For those who haven’t heard of it, what is the best way to describe Luszol?

A: Luszol is a Miami based innovative energy company that specializes in connecting expert installers with customers following the company’s engineering design guidelines to provide for energy resiliency, independence, security, and reliability through distributed energy generation systems.

Q: How does a solar panel work? Can you really save money with solar panels?

A: Photovoltaic solar panels are multilayered semi-conductors with free electrons, aligned in such a way that provides for the mobility of electrons when being continuously pushed by sunlight during the day, thus producing electricity. Therefore, the power generated by solar panels can be consumed directly at the site, rather than buying that electricity provided by utilities thus lowering monthly bills. If regulation allows, the power produced at the site can be sold back to the local electric utility company to the point of canceling out monthly statements.

Even though Luszol started as a traditional solar company, we have gone beyond just that into a more dynamic energy company which does not only utilize solar, also thought we recommend it since it can be installed in a great variety of locations to produce electricity with minimum operational costs. Our designs are focused on the customer need and their needs, thus adapting accordingly to them. We specialize in energy systems that use storage and distributed generation be it through solar, natural gas, diesel generators or the utility’s grid. Q: Are there any tax credits, rebates, or incentives to help lower the cost of switching to solar?

A: 
In the United States, there are municipal, state and federal financial incentives, and for renewable energy that varies with geographical location. A great example of such policy is the famous Investment Tax Credit (ITC) which allow customers to reduce 30% of the cost of the system out of their federal taxes to incentivize installations and enable the customers to reach grid parity. Such a tax incentive is set to phase out in the upcoming years, so it would be wise to take full opportunity of it while available.

Q: What are the benefits if renewable energy?

A: 
Utilizing renewable energy generation for our systems such as solar allow our customers to enjoy electricity produced locally with minimal environmental impact thus impacting our world’s ecosystems beneficially. On a financial perspective, renewable energies also have their edge, since they have little operational costs and are very reliable systems meant for long term sturdy functioning. We recommend our customers the usage of solar especially since it is a distributed energy generation alternative that is easily scalable, and which is movable especially when installing with flexible panels to make for more compact and portable systems in case our customers move or would like to take the system with them on a trip.

Q: There are already a number of clean energy companies on the market, why do you think yours is superior?

A: I think every clean energy company has its niche and competitive advantage. Ours lies in great engineering designs, and vast networks of installers, engineers, and electricians to match with our customers for solutions that fit their needs. Unlike most companies in the market, we are focused on distributed energy generation systems that allow our customers for greater energy independence, reliability, security and resiliency while also allowing the other advantages of solar and storage energy system design.

Q: What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your business and how did you overcome it?

A: As a young company, we have faced an enormous amount of obstacles that we have pushed through through persistence and with the support of our stakeholders. Thus I won’t go into describing those. However, I do think it is important to mention that In our line of business our partner engineers, electricians, and installers, face challenges continuously to develop the best system possible for each client that will fit their needs. Our designs adapt to our clients’ locale and provide them with real value such as higher energy independence, reliability, security, and resiliency while allowing for savings and fitting their budget and unique system requirements.
